DRY NEEDLING (MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE)
Dry needling is a specialised technique used by trained practitioners to relieve muscular pain and tension. Unlike traditional acupuncture, this method targets specific areas of discomfort, providing pain relief and improved movement.
Dry needling targets trigger points within the muscles to relieve tension and promote relaxation. By inserting fine, sterile needles into these tight areas, we create micro-trauma that stimulates the body’s healing response. Dry needling therapy enhances blood flow and releases endorphins, our body’s natural pain relievers. As a result, it helps alleviate discomfort and improves overall muscle function and relaxation.
Some conditions that can be treated by dry needle therapy include:
- Targeted Treatment for Muscular Trigger Points
- Rapid Pain Relief and Improved Mobility
- Minimally Invasive and Generally Well-Tolerated
- Can be Used in Conjunction with Other Therapies for Enhanced Results
- Safe and Suitable for Individuals of All Ages
SPORTS INJURIES
SHOULDER PAIN
MYOFASCIAL PAIN SYNDROME
LOWER BACK AND NECK PAIN
HEADACHES AND MIGRAINES
FIBROMYALGIA
MUSCLE TENSION AND SPASMS
TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT (TMJ) DYSFUNCTION

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING DRY NEEDLING:
During a dry needling session, you will lie comfortably while our certified therapist inserts thin acupuncture needles into the targeted muscle areas. You may experience a slight sensation or twitch response as the needles are inserted, but the treatment is generally well-tolerated. After the session, you may experience some soreness or achiness, which typically resolves within a day or two.
